We raised $510 for Miss Piggy’s Guinea Lair
If you know anything about winter on the Sunshine Coast this year, you'll know one thing… the rain just hasn't stopped.
After rescheduling our guinea pig fundraiser multiple times because of the weather, we were finally treated to a break in the rain and it was well worth the wait.
On Sunday 2nd August 2026, we hosted our guinea pig mini sessions in support of Miss Piggy's Guinea Lair, raising an incredible $510 to help the rescue continue caring for guinea pigs in need.
Around 50 Tiny Models in Front of the Camera
We set up a miniature studio complete with an adorable vintage suitcase and welcomed around 50 guinea pigs throughout the day.
Every guinea pig had their own unique personality. Some were curious, some were camera-shy, while others confidently stole the spotlight. Watching each little pig settle into the set and seeing their owners' reactions made for such a fun and rewarding day.
It's not every weekend you get to photograph fifty tiny potatoes with legs!
Finally Meeting Beth
One of the highlights of the day was finally meeting Beth, the founder of Miss Piggy's Guinea Lair.
I've actually been following Beth and the rescue since around 2020 or 2021, but we'd never met in person until Sunday. She is genuinely one of the loveliest people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and her love, dedication, and passion for guinea pigs shines through in absolutely everything she does.
Running an animal rescue isn't easy. It takes countless hours, endless patience, and a community willing to support the animals that need it most. Seeing that passion firsthand made the day even more meaningful.
Thank You for Making Us Feel So Welcome
To everyone who came along with their guinea pigs—thank you.
It was so lovely meeting so many wonderful people and being welcomed into the guinea pig community. Everyone was incredibly kind, supportive, and clearly obsessed with giving their little companions the very best lives.
I'll admit... you're all doing a very convincing job of making me want to adopt a guinea pig myself.
How You Can Support Miss Piggy's Guinea Lair
The $510 we raised will help, but the rescue's work continues every single day.
If you'd like to support Miss Piggy's Guinea Lair, there are so many ways you can make a difference:
Adopt a guinea pig if you're ready to provide a forever home.
Sponsor a guinea pig currently in care.
Make a donation to help cover food, housing, and veterinary expenses.
Follow them on social media.
Like, comment on, and share their posts to help more people discover the rescue.
Every share, every donation, every sponsorship, and every adoption helps give another guinea pig the chance at a better life.
Thank you again to Beth, all of the volunteers, and every guinea pig parent who joined us. It was a day full of tiny squeaks, adorable faces, and an incredible community coming together for a great cause—and we can't wait to do it again.
