Noosa’s Best Kept Secret

Exploring Noosa’s Best-Kept Secret: Noosa North Shore

We were thrilled to be invited to BIG4 Noosa North Shore to experience their brand-new, dog-friendly glamping tents—a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered!

Despite living in Noosa for 20 years, I had never taken the quick ferry trip across to Noosa North Shore. (I know, I’m a terrible local!) But that all changed when I packed up the car with swimwear, snacks, and my adventurous pup, Willow, and set off to explore this stunning coastal retreat.

A Quick & Scenic Getaway

Getting there was a breeze—just a short, picturesque ferry ride across the Noosa River, and within two minutes of driving, we arrived at the resort. The moment we checked in, I knew we were in for something special.

February’s off-season charm meant fewer crowds, with just a handful of RVs and tents scattered around. Whether you prefer glamping, powered sites, or traditional camping, there’s an option for every type of traveler. And the best part? It’s all dog-friendly!

The Ultimate Glamping Escape

Nestled in a tranquil bush setting, our Reserve View Glamping Tent offered the perfect blend of luxury and nature. With 55 sqm of space, including a private 15 sqm terrace, it felt both spacious and cozy. Thoughtfully designed, it featured:

  • A king-sized bed and bunk bed for extra comfort

  • A kitchenette for easy meal prep

  • A private ensuite bathroom

  • A deck with serene bushland views

It was the perfect retreat—peaceful, secluded, and yet still close to the beauty of Noosa’s coastline.

Exploring the Resort & Beyond

After settling in, I grabbed Willow’s 5m long lead, and we set off to explore. The resort itself offers a grocery store, bottle shop, café, and restaurant, making it super convenient for guests. Plus, there are plenty of fun activities available, including putt-putt, laser tag, stand-up paddling, and more!

Curious about the best sunset spot, I asked the friendly reception staff for recommendations. They pointed us to a secluded lakeside location (we’ve attached the coordinates!), and it did not disappoint. The lake was still and peaceful, and Willow had her first kangaroo sighting! A quick reminder: always keep your dogs on a lead to protect the local wildlife and ensure everyone’s safety.

Willow took a refreshing swim while safely attached to her 5m lead, and we watched the sun set in golden hues before heading back to our cabin. Taking the scenic route, we walked through the enchanting fairy light trail—a magical experience as dusk settled over the resort.

A Morning of Adventure

The next morning, we woke with the sun, ready for another day of adventure. We hopped in the car and followed another local recommendation from the helpful staff. The drive was absolutely breathtaking—lush, winding forest roads leading to the beach. Though the wind was a little strong that morning for a swim, the journey itself was worth it.

Back at the resort, we grabbed breakfast at the café and enjoyed it outside at the picnic benches, soaking in the fresh morning air. Afterwards, we made our way to the beach, where Willow had the time of her life—swimming, digging, and running wild!

Final Thoughts

Noosa North Shore is the ultimate escape for those seeking a relaxing yet adventurous getaway—especially if you’re traveling with a furry friend. With its serene landscapes, dog-friendly accommodations, and endless opportunities for exploration, this hidden paradise might just become your new favourite retreat!
